It all started when…

When we made the decision to leave our careers in music and fashion to launch The Kings Head, we had no idea what was ahead! We’d fallen in love with the area and could see past the sawdust of this former Victorian coaching inn to the vibrant, modern gastropub we felt Wye deserved. 

So in 2013, we made the leap.

Core to our vision from the very start was a commitment to seasonality and local suppliers. We’ve built our reputation for quality food on the amazing produce that’s right on our doorstep. From local game, cheese and wine to veg that’s picked the same day as it’s cooked, we love to do things the hard way … we don’t buy bulk, we don’t freeze ahead and if we run out, we run out.

Besides our food offering (now including our sister pizzeria, Kingshed, that’s right next to the main pub), we are also proud to host guests in our small range of bright, airy guest rooms. We’ve decorated each room individually, using reclaimed and vintage furniture.

Our love of this area hasn’t diminished and we are happy to recommend local walks, places to visit and great days out. We’re so happy that the local community has taken us to its heart and can’t wait to see what the future holds for The Kings Head!
